People Magazine is releasing their annual 'Most Beautiful' issue, and this years most beautiful woman is Gwyneth Paltrow. The oscar winner has Iron Man 3 coming out in May, and looks just as good as she did before the first one was released. She has been appearing on stage in and film for the last twenty-three years.
In the magazine interview Paltrow spoke of her reaction when she found out, "I honestly thought someone was playing a joke on me, I had to reread the e-mail three times. I was like, 'This can't be true, I've developed dyslexia -- I'm not reading this right.' It's a very iconic cover in American culture, so it's just amazing." She went on to say, "Around the house, I'm in jeans and a T-shirt. I don't really wear makeup,". Coldplay's Chris Martin, her husband, sometimes teases her about it."If I've gotten fully dressed up, he'll be like, 'Oh, wow! You're Gwyneth Paltrow!' Because he's used to seeing me in like baggy shorts and frizzy hair," she said.
At 40 she says how she defines beauty has changed, "I feel my most beautiful when I am truly myself. Meaning, when I accept exactly where I am in time and space, and I'm not judging myself in any way, and I feel that I have the peace that comes with loving yourself and all of your flaws," she told People. "I see so much now how beauty really does, as cliché as it sounds, emanate from within." She gives a lot of credit to the Tracy Anderson Method, pictured right, for helping her "look younger and feel strong,"
This morning on NBC's Today Show, Matt Lauer and Michael Buble spoke with People Magazine's Julie Jordan, who is a senior writer there and in charge of the issue. When asked why Gwyneth, Jordan responded 'Gwyneth is the choice this year. Of course her cookbook debuted at number one on the best seller list, It's All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great, she's got Iron Man 3 coming out, she's kind of stunning, she's 40 and she says she's more comfortable now than she has ever been." Jordan went on to say, " she's a mom, ya know, and that's what's most important to her.I saw her with her kids, Apple and Moses, and their so normal, and she's really with them and that's all it takes to feel beautiful in her world."
Jordan also talked about others who made the list. She said Halle Berry has made the list sixteen times and Berry told her 'she appreciates all the lines on her face', even though Jordan claims she can't see any, but called Berry 'beyond stunning'. She also talked about Channing Tatum, who calls himself an 'extreamesist' when it comes to working out, and he loves to work hard and when he plays 'you better watch out'. Jordan also said that women love him because of his looks, but that he is also a great guy. Other notables that made the list were Tim McGraw, Adele, Justin Timberlake, and Emile Clarke from Game of Thrones.
When Lauer asked Jordan about how they come up with the list, Jordan said 'it can't be just physical beauty because there are way too many of them in Hollywood. She said they looked for someone who "has kind of a good heart and a self depricating sense of humor, someone who doesn't take it too seriously, that's important."
